Trump Escalates Attacks on Ron DeSantis as a 2024 Clash Brews – NBC 6 South Florida

What You May Have Missed

Donald Trump’s new nickname for Ron DeSantis, “Meatball Ron,” may be a dig at his Italian-American heritage. Or maybe he’s just having a tough time coming up with humiliating monikers for his rivals.

Nikki Haley entered the Republican presidential race with a video announcement one day before her formal kickoff in Charleston, South Carolina. But while her rhetoric was about the future, Haley may be a symbol of the GOP past.

As one comes in, one bows out: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) won’t seek the presidency in 2024.

Likely GOP presidential candidate Mike Pompeo says President Biden’s handling of the Chinese balloon incident brought “global shame” to the U.S.

Another likely candidate, Asa Hutchinson, is spending $85,000 on Facebook ads — more than all the other potential candidates combined.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) announced her long-expected retirement at the end of this term. But in an interview about an hour after her office released the statement on her retirement, Feinstein told an interviewer, “I’m not announcing anything. I will one day.”

Adam Frisch, who fell just 546 votes short of unseating Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) in a race that no analysts expected to be competitive, will take on Boebert again in 2024.

The Senate is on track to confirm Biden’s 100th federal judge today.

People still refuse to realize the fool’s errand of underestimating Biden. As for the meatball thing, Trump could be making a bigoted remark or fat shaming. Heck maybe even both. It’s bad enough that Clarence Thomas has disgraced the seat of Thurgood Marshall. I guess that’s why the Georgia GOP wants to honor him.
