What You May Have Missed
Nikki Haley is running for president, and has the early endorsement of former Donald Trump stalwart Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC). Haley may be the first of many not named Trump or DeSantis to enter the race. But is she really gunning for the second slot on the ticket?
Haley took a dig at both parties’ presidential frontrunners by calling for mandatory “mental competency tests” for politicians over the age of 75. Trump hit back by saying, “I’m glad she’s running…even though she made a commitment that she would never run against who she called the greatest president of her lifetime.”
Chris Christie, a possible candidate himself, says he’s not afraid of Trump and that no one really knows DeSantis.
How do you run against Trump without running against Trump?
Some of Trump’s allies say he needs to more of the retail, one-on-one politicking that he has always shunned.
A poll commissioned by the Senate Leadership Fund shows Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) losing to GOP Gov. Jim Justice by 10 points, but has Manchin ahead of two other possible challengers by 10 and 15 points respectively.
The Mitch McConnell-Rick Scott feud is one for the ages — and the Club for Growth is siding with Scott.
Rep. George Santos (R-NY) has claimed to be many things. Now he’s claiming he may be able to get reelected.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) won’t be charged in a federal sex trafficking probe.
The pendulum has swung against election deniers.

The crashes & burns of the GOP primary is going to be entertaining but yet pitiful.
& Jo is right. It’s fine to raise the age for social media but anything to enforce a sense of gun competency, firearms responsibility and safety is just a bridge too far. 😒
