Ohio's Senate Race Kicks Off Early
And it looks like it may be a crowded GOP field

What You May Have Missed…
The political news never stops, so Peter Orvetti summarizes what happened each day so you can keep up.
Matt Dolan, the sole Trump critic in last year’s crowded Ohio Republican Senate primary, plans to run again in 2024. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) has not yet said if he will seek another term in a state that has been trending red. Dolan finished third of six major candidates in the 2022 primary won by now-Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH). Several other Republicans are also eyeing the race.
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel is favored to win a fourth two-year term later this month, but faces an energetic challenge from RNC member Harmeet Dhillon, with MyPillow’s Mike Lindell also in the mix.
Andrew Intrater, the Trump-connected cousin of Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, gave more to help elect Rep. George Santos (R-NY) than was previously known.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy insists he always had questions about Santos even though he hosted a fundraiser for him just a month before the election.

Mailbag
A Political Wire reader asks:
I'm wondering why there isn't talk of a recall of George Santos. Could the Democrats initiate one?
The recall of federal officials — including members of Congress — is not a legally established process in the United States.
Many states have recall provisions for state officials, including governors and state legislators. The process and requirements for recall vary from state to state.
The only way to remove an elected member of Congress is to expel them.

Nice first edition - impressive
Thanks to Taegan and Peter for this! Sinema and Manchin definitely blew that one. Regarding Pete handling the "hot seat", I can't think of anyone more capable of handling criticism than he is. Wyoming is crazy! I love the Extra Links section of this, also! Thanks for always coming up with new ways to get the news to us!! :)
