RNC 2020: Schedule and speaker lineup for Night 1

What You May Have Missed

Sen. Tim Scott is moving closer to a presidential run, meaning there could be two South Carolinians in the GOP race after Nikki Haley (who has not yet staffed up) jumps in this week.

A swing-state governor with a solid conservative record captured the imagination of Republicans despite his personal awkwardness. Ron DeSantis? No, Scott Walker. Can DeSantis avoid Walker’s fate?

Dark horses? Defeated Arizona gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake traveled to Iowa, and biotech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy is testing a presidential run in the state.

A poll by a GOP firm finds Sen. Jon Tester (D) tied with Gov. Greg Gianforte (R) in a 2024 Montana Senate matchup, and finds Tester five points ahead of each of the state’s two GOP congressmen. But Tester does not top 46% in any of the hypotheticals.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) trails his likely Democratic rival in one of the nation’s most Republican states.

The New York Times has discovered $365,399.08 in unexplained spending in George Santos’s campaign filings — nearly one-eighth of his total reported expenses.

Three sections of the Fulton County, Georgia, grand jury report on Donald Trump’s post-election actions in the state will be released to the public.

Esper: I'm confident in saying that I doubt the aliens would travel across the universe and all of a sudden decide to conduct surveillance over Lake Huron in a balloon moving 20 miles an hour. If that’s their plan, I think we’re in good shape..

Ugh thanks for reminding me again of the crookedness of the NCGOP. 😒 😑

Need Democrats to start showing up for every election in numbers matching our surpassing those of the GOP.
